There is an extensive range of outstanding theater productions for the German-language writer, Friedrich Durrenmatt who was born in Switzerland. Particularly The Visit is the classic among all his works that was distinct from others. The storyline and the personalities of the characters are full of the grotesque atmosphere. The story is about a female billionaire spending huge sums to buy and save the life of her first love in her hometown. The author presented a tragic story by means of the comedy. The story depicted a group of persons who confuse right with wrong deliberately even at the expense of their conscientiousness under the temptation of interest. The work revealed and satirized the so-called humanitarian and legal justice deeply. As my graduate research play, it is adapted into a complete one-act play. I just elaborate the author and the style of this play respectively and analyze the original storyline as well as the characters. I will state my understanding with the adapted one-act play and the created practice in here.
