On Narration Of Family Ethics In Zhang Ling’s Novels

Because of her charismatic literature, Zhang Ling has been active in the literary world and also has become one of the outstanding Overseas Chinese Literature Writers in recent years. She used to live in Canada with different occupation and identity, and now she resides in Toronto. Her rich experience of studying and wandering in a foreign land makes her pay more attention to ordinary people’s personal fate and family life. Her novels are always peaceful and chilly, and she always integrate deep ethical connotation in between the lines to make the literature have more charm. Each character in her novels has a full three-dimensional image and bright personality. We can meet ourselves and the epitome of an era from those extraordinary figures. At the same time, we can also realize the gains and losses of ethics and human nature from them.The paper is divided into four chapters to complete the study of the narration of family ethics in Zhang Ling’s novels. The first chapter: the summary of ethics and family ethics and the impact on Zhang Ling’s novel creation. I will analyze the important concept of ethics, and then investigate the specific content of Chinese and western ethical ideas emphatically. The second chapter: the kernel of the narration of family ethics in Zhang Ling’s novels—conflict and reconciliation of family ethics. According to concrete works of Zhang Ling, I will analyze the conflict between husband and wife、mother and child and the sisters to reflect a variety of practical issues in contemporary family, and also to express the appeal of family reconciliation behind the conflict from people. The third chapter: the connotation of the narration of family ethics in Zhang Ling’s novels. From the perspective of Chinese and Western family ethics, I will investigate the questions of human nature and the connotation of the narration of family ethics in Zhang Ling’s works. The fourth chapter: the characteristics of the narration of family ethics and creative limitations in Zhang Ling’s novels. From the narrative point of view, I will analyze the methods of plot processing and the shaping of the characters, point out the limitations of Zhang Ling’s creation objectively.
