| On the basis of frame theory in fields like artificial intelligence and cognitivepsychology, Fillmore is the first person who introduced frame theory into the study oflinguistics. From then on, scholars at home and abroad made continuous explorationon the theory, making it more and more mature.Frame is the schematic representation above the level of concept for humanexperience, reflecting the structure of knowledge system, consisting of componentsand relations. Frame is relevant with specific cultural entities in human experience, corresponding to language expressing approaches, and can be motivated by language, which is the setting reference for meaning understanding. With prototype effect, components of frame, frame and frame system make up a three-dimensional structure, complying with cognitive mechanism such as metaphor and metonymy, etc. Thisstructure is cultural and dynamic, which can be acquired in the process of human’ssocialization.Aimed at exploring the cognitive model in the translator’s practice, especially forlegal text translation, this thesis mainly analyzes legal text translation from theperspective of frame theory. In the thesis, frame theory, definition of frame and itsfundamental properties are proposed at first. After that, four types of specific frameoperation approaches are proposed which contain replacement of frame component, addition of frame component, adjustment of frame level alteration on frameperspective. By analyzing some examples in legal text translation, this part illustratessome specific frame operation models. In each of the models, there are correspondinglegal provisions. |
