China is a large agricultural nation. The farmers occupied the most of the countries. Examining andobserving the country world becomes the main way to understand Chinese society. Rural novel has a veryimportant position in China’s new literature history from the May Fourth Movement. There are two reasons:first is through a series of changes in the countryside, we can see the change of Chinese history. The secondis through the description on a series of changes of rural character, we can see the spirit and the quality ofChina. So, describing and reflecting the fate of the farmers has become a distinctive and a unique literaryphenomenon in the contemporary history.China is a multi-national country,56ethnic groups living together in this vast land. Chinese literaturesare also composed by56national literatures. Uygur literatures, as a part of the new Chinese literatures, contact with our country’s future destiny, autonomous region economic and political developmentprosperity closely. Xinjiang is a piece of unique regional integration with farming culture and the nomadicculture interlaced. For half a century in the history, every ethnic group in Xinjiang has their out-standingwriting groups. In the minority writers, the poet occupied a large part of. They eulogized the reform andopening, and national spirit with great enthusiasm and praising, and created a great number of out-standingpoems. We can’t ignore the70s and80s, a group of Uygur writers began to use their pens to depict the ruralhistory and reality in Xinjiang, the peasants’ living condition, the change of rural development for makingthe rural novels showed another style. This paper compared two realist writers who are Mao Dun and Zuerdong·Sabier. The studies of MaoDun and Zuerdong·Sabier have had very great achievement, but there are very little to be comparativestudies. Therefore, the two writers and their works on syndrome differentiation and comparative study needto be widened. This paper will use the parallel method to try to analyze the creative method, the characterimage, land consciousness etc. in theme of rural area and famers of works, such as Grape Valley Chronicleand rural trilogy. Researching the differences and similarities, as well as the reasons, we can understandmore about the two writers. I also hope that it can benefit Han literature and Uygur literature comparativestudy. This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is an introduction. It mainly introduced the development of Chinese rural novel, thelife and literary activities of Mao Dun and Zuerdong·Sabier, as well as the research achievement aboutthese two writers. The second chapter basically explained the spirit of farmers in Mao Dun’ and Zuerdong·Sabier’screations. The famers were from ignorant to kind, finally to awake. This was an upgrade process to step bystep. The third chapter analyzed the complex of famers’ land in these two writers’ works. They describedthe famers’ lives in two different ethnic groups, but their love about their land is the same. However, thefinal choice is different in some where. Therefore, summarized the reasons is very important. The fourth chapter mainly illustrated the geographical features in the works of the two writers.
