| The "BI" construction is the most important Chinese sentence pattern among those expressing the meaning of "more than", and is a significant part of grammar teaching when teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. There are inevitable errors when students use "BI" construction, which intensively reflect the teaching emphasis and difficulty, so research of errors can better guide teaching. With the development of studying specific countries, more and more attention has been put on those Chinese character culture circle countries and English speaking countries. However, there’s little research for Hungary such a small country. Therefore, this paper had a try on "BI" construction errors analysis of Hungarian students. Five chapters are included:The first chapter introduces the significance of the topic, the research content, research methods, as well as related researches. Based on the previous articles on the "BI" construction, and guided by the error analysis theories, we mainly used the survey, comparative analysis and interviews to study the errors on "BI" construction of Hungarian students. We focused on the eight sentences whose comparative result items are adjectives.The second chapter describes the classified errors. The first step is classification, we divided the errors into syntactic errors and semantic errors, the former ones were furtherly classified into four groups, which are errors of subjects, errors of comparative item errors, errors of comparative marker errors and errors of comparative result items according to the structure of "BI" construction. We also discussed the addition, wrong alternative, omission, disorder and blend of each classification. The second step is describing the errors according to students’Chinese levels (primary, intermediate and advanced), summarizing the various stages of the student’s focus and difficulty.The third chapter analyzes the causes of errors. First are the internal factors of learners. We compared the Hungarian "more than" sentence patterns and Chinese "BI" construction to find out the influence of linguistic transference on students’errors, we also discussed the impact of overgeneralization of target language and learners’strategies. Second is the restriction of external environment. We mainly talked about the unreasonable arrangement of teaching material and inappropriate methods of teachers.The forth Chapter makes teaching suggestions. Firstly, teachers should help students to built scientific learning strategies, reducing language anxiety by correcting students’errors indirectly. Secondly, the compilation of textbooks must reflect the characteristics of Hungarian students:all of the sentence patterns should be scattered in different lessons of different stages, using simple and accurate sentences to explain grammar points, meanwhile, exercise of suitable amount and various forms should be included. Thirdly, when using the traditional3P teaching method, we should make the presentation simple and direct, practice vivid and lively, and the production efficient. The newly developed "task-based" approach can also be taken into consideration when teaching Chinese "BI" construction to Hungarian adults, which has a good effect on stimulating students’ motivation and initiative.The fifth chapter summarizes the conclusions of this paper, presenting the deficiencies of error analysis on the "BI" construction of Hungarian students, and giving suggestions and expectations to the follow-up studies. |
