| With the rapid development and extensive use of information technology, constructing multidimensional and dynamic, comprehensive and scientific assessment has become a reality. Based on the College English Curriculum Requirements (2007),"an effective assessment is very important, English teaching in college should carry out the formative assessment and summative assessment."This research was done on two paralleled classes in twelve teaching classes in a computer-assisted English audio-video speaking class (EAVSC). Through analysis the data and several conclusions are concluded as follows:Peer assessment on speaking activities has a positive effect on promoting EFL learners’communication strategies, especially in their ability to have self-reflection. Firstly, the advanced level of students applied communication strategies, the stronger awareness of using communication strategies, therefore, they had a positive effect on improving the ability of self-reflection. Secondly, the advanced level of students had the stronger awareness of using communication strategies, therefore, students applied communication strategies much more frequently than the students below the average. Thirdly, peer assessment can improve the confidence of listening and speaking and promote cooperative learning of students and enhance learners autonomy.Through collected and analyzed the data of this research, the author also found some questions and methods in teaching, and concluded in the following aspects:In the first place, some students speak English at a high-speed rate, but at the same time, produce numerous linguistic errors, thus to decrease the accuracy. In the second place, a group of students rely on teacher assessment and peer assessment, they lack self-autonomous learning ability. In the third place, in the process of teaching, the teacher can adopt peer assessment properly.This study is expected to enrich the research of peer assessment in China, and it also hopes to shed some light on teachers and researches who are interested in the field of college oral English teaching. |
