This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is introduction, elaborates the significance of the topic, the relationship between cognitive linguistics and words of orientation and related research is summarized, points out the special status of location word teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language; The second chapter is the analysis of the definition and the reality words of orientation, discusses the special status of orientation words on the reality study, and the difficulties of traditional methods of teaching words of orientation; The third chapter from the perspective of cognitive linguistics position words "in" and "outside", in the classic theory of cognitive linguistics, image schema theory:highlights the theory, metaphor theory as the tool, the system analysis value and polysemous generation of location words; Chapter fourth about error analysis, searched location words "in" and "outside" error, carries on the reason analysis; The fifth chapter is about teaching strategies, introducing cognitive linguistics to teaching words "in" and "outside" by results analysis, Explained the conclusion for the error analysis and conclusions, put forward some suggestions for the teaching of position words.
