As a private compiling chorography in Shanxi, Jin Cizhi waswritten by Liu Dapeng from Guang Xu28years to32years (1902-1906).The book consisted of forty-two volumes, a total of15categories. Ithas carried on the comprehensive detailed textual records about theJin Temple and the surrounding area in geography, history, customsand so on. It is one of the main later researches on the Jin Temple andits surrounding area, with great significance in Shanxi local historyresearch. Although there are many academic works and papers on LiuDapeng and Tui Xiang Zhai Diary, less researches on his Jin Cizhi havebeen published.Researched in the theory of philology and chronicles, the articleshows a complete and systematic view of Jin Cizhi, including theversion, characteristics, sources of literature and its research value.The paper includes introduction and four chapters to study on JinCizhi.The first chapter mainly write the version of Jin Cizhi, and the lifeof Liu Dapeng, three sections.Jin Cizhi has two versions. The writingoriginis is no record of Jin Temple monographs,the dream of LiuDapeng broken, following Wang Chongben writing. Liu Dapeng hasfaced the eight difficults in the writing process of Jin Cizhi.The second chapter study on the characteristics and style ofcompiling, two sections.The first quarter to explore the strong the details of style for parallel. Compared with the "Shanxi eachcounty notice",the style of Jin Cizhi is more flexible, no specifiedofficial content such as tax, and the author published personalopinions in Jin Cizhi.The third chapter to literature research,three sections. Theliterature handed down from ancient times and self survey. Jin Cizhi isof great value in literature, embodied in the official historicalmaterials of assembly, detailed history of Jin Temple region,corrected the deficiency and reduction of the historical data errors.Finally, there are also some examples to show the limitation of therevision of Jin Cizhi.
