A Comparative Study Of The Frame Structure

This article is inspired by an advertising slogan, which says“bushi suo you niu nai dou jiao Telunsu”. We found that this structure iswidely used on the Internet. So we searched a large number oflanguage materials on the Internet and make them to be the object ofour observation. We combined with the experience of previousstudies and researched the structure of “bu shi suo you A dou jiaoB”and “you yi zhong A jiao B” and found the difference between themfrom three aspects of the syntactic structure, semantic relations, andpragmatic value. We use the Transform Analysis, ConstructionGrammar and Cognition theories of linguistics to explain and analyzethe reason of the emergence of the popular usage of these twostructure and differences between them. We hope that this paper canexpress the unique of these two structures and make an effect ofChinese “teaching” and “learning”.The main body of this paper consists of five chapters, namedintroduction, syntactic structure, syntactic relations, pragmaticmeaning and value, summary.The first chapter is divided into six sections, respectivelyelaborates the reason of this topic research and its value, the reviewof related research, the scope of the research, the methods of the research, expected results and the source corpus.The second chapter mainly composed of five sections, whichanalyzed the two frame structure “you yi zhong A jiao B "and" bu shisuo you A dou jiao B”.The first section described the variableterms "A" and "B"’s syllable features and grammatical features. Thesecond section analyzed transformation of these two frame structure.According to the characteristics of A and B, the thirdsection analyzed the structure types of these two structure. Thefourth section analyzes the two frame structure’s ability in asentence, which can be divided into three types: the syntactic ability,the ability to be an independent sentence, and complexsentence’s clause. The fifth section compares the two structure’ssimilarities and difference of their syntactic position.The third chapter is divided into four sections, which is mainlyanalyzed and compared the semantic relationship of the two framestructure. The first section divided the semantic relation types intofive types. The second section shows the type difference of "A"and "B"’s semantic relation of the two frame structure. The thirdsection analyzed the constructional meaning of these twostructure, which reflected that “you yi zhong A jiao B” has antiexpected meaning and temporary impose meaning, and “bu shi suoyou A dou jiao B” has temporary exclusion meaning. The fourthsection showed the explanation of the semantic and cognitive theoryfrom five aspects.The fourth chapter is divided into four sections expoundingthe pragmatic meaning and value of these two frame structure. Thefirst section analyzed the pragmatic meaning and the reason of it. The second section analyzed the characteristic of their informationexpression. The third section analyzed the stylistic value of theirperformance in the title and advertising slogan and thediversification of emotional tendency. The fourth section brieflydiscussed the rhetorical function of these two structures, which areevolved from the traditional constructions to therhetoric structure. The frame structure “bu shi suo you A dou jiaoB” reflects its rhetorical functions in advertising.The fifth chapter is the conclusion, which made a summary of thetwo frame structure from three aspects of syntactic structure,semantic relations and pragmatic value.
