Languages are regarded as carriers of different cultures. The translation ofculture elements in touristic text should cater to and be acceptable to the target languagereaders. By analyzing the function and contents of the original text, the report probes into thetranslation difficulties and problems of culture elements, and is concluded with thecorresponding solutions and translation methods of semantic translation and communicativetranslation, such as transliteration plus paraphrase, adaption, and deletion.
