Existentialism is one of the modern western philosophy withinternational important genre, once popular in the world in manycountries, Europe and the United States, Japan and China. It paysattention to the real for the existence of the individual’s businessrather than recourse to the nather of the world which people did inthe past thousands of years, so is a typical representative of modernideological trend of human-basis doctrine. Its theory origin can betraced back to the first half of the19th century Danish mystickierkegaard,19th century German philosopher Nietzsche andfounder of the phenomenology of husserl, etc, it was born inGermany, put forward by heidegger, thriving in the20th centuryFrance, then to the world.Antonioni is a great distinguished Italian film director in the20th century, his film, from beginning to end, pay close attention toman’s existence, both inner world and living conditions. The themeof his film is similar with the existential philology’s. There are agreat deal of paper which research on Aotonioni’s film no matter at home or abroad in academic circles, but few of them analyze hisfilms systematically from the view of the existentialism.In the studyof film, I tend to be European philosophers, particularly obsessedwith Ann image, to all kinds of reasons, this article will try to talkabout existentialism, and from its theory sky to recourse the themeand characteristics.This article is divided into eight parts. In the introduction,briefly describes the reasons why I gave the paper this title andobjective and the method of research. In the second chapter isrelatively clear the development evolution and the main idea ofexistentialism. The third chapter is the key chapter, It analyzetheme and thought of ANN’s movies from the perspective ofexistentialism. The fourth chapter and the fifth chapter talk aboutthe structure of the film, the camera language including audio-visual(sounds, pictures) and the scene scheduling existential expressionof Ann film are analyzed in detail. In the sixth chapter, I compareAntonioni with contemporary European modernism film (Bergman,Kieslowski and fellini), and reveals the existentialism in his films.Chapter seven write about the influence of his film to the world,this paper mainly refers to Europe and the United States and China),the influence of the epilogue repeated antonioni’s creation motive,the performance of the Ann existential thought in the movie, and thesignificance of this article.
