The Study Of Female Bodybuilding During The Period Of Republic Of China

This paper based on newspapers reported female bodybuilding the period of the Republic of China as the starting point, based on body construction and social construction of female bodybuilding as two clues, attempted to construct a three-dimensional picture of female bodybuilding, revealed the social factors of this phenomenon, and extended its social impact and age limitations.The rise of female bodybuilding had the inevitable age background. The victory of the 1911 Revolution and measures to eliminate long-standing malpractice, New Life Movement of Nanjing National Government removed the institutional barriers for women’s liberation and created a liberal political environment; the May 4th New Cultural Movement and Western-oriented social life brought women out of prison and created a good social atmosphere. 1920 s, female bodybuilding came to China, Various newspapers, journals and female special issue covered image and method of female bodybuilding. The involvement of the media, made the female body not simply "materialized" body and become a symbol of specific cultural and social connotations.
