Research On The Democratic Culture Construction Of Socialism With Chinese Characteristics

Democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics is new in academic research. In China, there are less research about democratic culture than the other aspects of democracy. Further more, there is no a set of rigorous theoretical system about it. In the practice of construction on democratic politics, construction of democratic culture is far behind construction of democratic institution as a result of policy, history and culture and infiltration of western democratic concept. So this thesis tries to enrich relevant researches and offer some idea about construction of democratic culture through analyzing democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics from a systematically and comprehensively way.The principal method of this thesis is literature study. Looking up and sorting relevant literature offer theory evidence to the paper. Firstly, on the basis of elaborating essential conceptions of democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, this paper analyzes the content and characteristics respectively. Then it analyzes the significance of construction about democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics from two views of civics and the society. Once more, it analyzes the present situation of construction about democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics which includes achievement, problems and the reasons of the Chinese democratic culture construction since the reforming and opening up. Finally, it studies the methods t solve the problems. The problems are mainly construction of democratic culture is far behind construction of democratic institution, people’s overall democratic culture is at a low level, the values of democracy is not firm. The part of methods are elaborated from aspects of governing party take the lead, creating a democratic atmosphere of public opinions, enhancing citizen’s democratic literacy and taking in something from foreign countries in a scientific way.This study of democratic culture construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics has both theoretical and practical significance. It enriches the theory system of construction about democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics in theory. It enhances the raising of individual citizens’ consciousness of political subject and promotes the social democratic political construction in practice. It is a innovation point to elaborate the significance of construction about democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics from these two views. Furthermore, comparing with the existing pieces of research, this thesis has a more systematically and comprehensively analysis.The basic conclusion is that democratic culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics is social ideology or social and cultural psychology which has the features of nationality, temporal spirit and advancement.
