What I Would Like To Say About Teaching Chinese Numerals

Numerals and the phrases which contain them, is an interesting but difficult part inthe Chinese teaching process. They have numerous meanings and formations, plus, theyappears quite often, which makes it difficult to learn and even more difficult to teach. Sothis essay tries to summarize what’s interesting and what’s effective to teach aboutnumerals for starters of Chinese language, under the guidance of textbook theories.The first part of this essay focuses on the meaning of teaching numerals and the ways ofteaching. The following part comments on several Chinese textbooks for starters. Thirdpart is the evaluation of these teaching materials in those textbooks, under the guidance oftextbook-evaluating theories. And last part of my essay are amendments on thenumerals-teaching section in Chinese-teaching textbooks, with the attemption andintention to make the numerals-teaching section easy to use and fun to learn.
