Hermeneutic Data Studies In The Literati’s Notes Of Song Dynasty

As higher and higher-level intellectuals begin to write notes, not only have the literariness and realism of notes in Song dynasty been greatly improved, but also its value of linguistics has largely emerged. The contents of notes are rich including astronomy and geography, local customs and practices, histories and folk customs, with everything that people have thought or heard being written without restriction. Especially in terms of the hermeneutic-related data, a number of words from Song dynasty or those dynasties before Song have been preserved. In particular, the dialect data coming from ancient culture texts not only has enlarged the database of Song hermeneutic, but also can be used as evidences of other linguistic research. The notes studied in this paper are mainly the Notes of Song dynasty series published by the Research Institute for Ancient Books of Shanghai Normal University and some other notes that have not been published yet.In this paper, the compilation and research of the hermeneutic contents in the literati’s notes of Song dynasty has been carried out. The article has three chapters.The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the research value, status and methodology of hermeneutic data studies in the literati’s notes of Song dynasty.The second chapter is the hermeneutic content. The hermeneutic content contains phraseology’s explaining and major ideas stating. In the phraseology’s explaining, the content is divided into common words explaining and dialect words explaining. There are lots of hermeneutic data of the literati’s notes of Song dynasty and the dialect words explaining is the focus of this article.The third chapter is the rules and methods of hermeneutic data studies in the literati’s notes of Song dynasty, which is mainly carried out by referring to Guo Zaiyi’s theory.The forth chapter shows the values on compiling the Chinese Dictionary, discussing the values, supplements for the Chinese Dictionary.The fifth chapter summarizes the mistakes of the literati’s notes of Song dynasty, which makes us take full account of the notes.In a word, the value of literati’s notes of Song dynasty is much more than what we have discovered. The author of this article hopes to make some contributions to the study of Song dynasty.
