A Study On The Prose Theory Of Yushilu

Yushilu is a prose theory works, which was compiled by Wang Zhengde in the early Southern Song Dynasty. Its style is "collecting without expounding ", by citing others prose views to present himself prose views. The book selected a total of 55 persons prose theories, including famous and unknown writers, from Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Song Dynasty. Although these people on the whole had achieved a little of the prose creation, but they had a profound understanding to some parts of the creation. Wang Zhengde owned inclusive spirit and unique aesthetic standards. He selected some overlooked, but incisive prose comments, which the prose point of view of Li Fangshu in the book brought together for the direction.My paper mainly explains Wang Zhengde’s prose point of view by studying Yushilu. The main content of this paper includes the following four parts:The introduction introduces the research status, the writing purpose, the style, the content and the literary value of Yushilu.The chapter 1 discusses the article constituting elements of Yushilu. By analyzing the recognize of the article elements of theorists of different age cited by the book, we can see that Wang Zhengde regarded the article as a complex,including" style "," emotion "," spirit ",and" rhyme ". On this basis, the articles have both ideological content and artistic quality.The chapter 2 concretely elaborates the writing law required in the articles constituent elements, including analyzing of the connotation of complying with the rules of literary styles for creation, describing how to express the emotion through learning, practice, refining meanings and modifying words and how to cultivate spirit of writers to form their own prose styles, and how to make language keep fluent and implicit.The chapter 3 explores the dialectical relationship between the law and the nature running through in the articles constituent elements of Yushilu. The interpretation of the law of Wang Zhengde showed his writing experience, while the pursuit of nature reflected his creativity, and promoted the inheritance and development of literary theories.Finally, the paper has a brief summary of the main points and outlines the prose theory and value of Yushilu. Based on the law and nature, the law is the easiest way to learn writing. According to the specific circumstances of the individuals, and the structure and content of articles, the writers need form their own characteristics of writing to make the essay achieve nature, which is the highest level of writing.The writers in Northern Song Dynasty basically completed the task of innovation of the prose, and the prose creation reached a climax. In the base of the achievements made by predecessors, inheritance and innovation became inevitable choice for writers in Southern Song Dynasty. The Yushilu fully embodied this spirit. Through researching the prose theory of it, I hope to help people deeply understand the artistic qualities of prose.
