Rhetorical questions in people’s daily life have high frequency of appearance, foreign students should master and use the grammar items,but because of the relative nature of rhetorical question sentences form and meaning, the complexity of the pragmatic function of the rhetorical question, which make it become an important and difficult grammar items on teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In this paper, on the basis of previous studies, from the perspective of second language acquisition, having an investigation on the cognition,understanding and application of the Chinese rhetorical question learned by Thailand student, which is made a comparison with the expression of Sino Thai rhetorical question, then, having an analysis on the error type and the causes raised by Thailand student when using the Chinese rhetorical question on interlanguage corpus and questionnaire statistics.Furthermore, this paper will have a research on textbooks in Chinese used by teachers in Thailand, and finally put forward suggestions for the problems.This article altogether has five parts. The first part is the introduction part, which mainly expounds the purpose and significance of this study,the ideas and methods of Chinese rhetorical questions and relatedresearch results; the second part is the comparison of Sino Thai rhetorical question.It mainly analyzes the corresponding expression of Chinese rhetorical question and Thai rhetorical question; The third part is the acquisition investigation on Chinese rhetorical question made by Thailand students, which is also the emphasis of the paper. First, it investigates the cognition, understanding and application of Thailand students for Chinese rhetorical with questionnaire. Then it makes further investigation for the Thailand students’ acquisition for Chinese rhetorical combined with interlanguage. Last, It classifies the errors made by the Thailand students when they use the Chinese rhetorical and analyzes them. The fourth part puts forward specific recommendation for the rhetorical teaching of Thailand teachers and the writing of Chinese textbooks, on the basis of investigation and study to the Chinese teachers in Thailand and Thailand Chinese teaching material; The fifth part is the summary part, which mainly introduces the research results in this paper,and the existing deficiencies.
