1908-1922:from The Nationalism Literary Thought To The Idea Of "Human Literature"

From the overall life of Zhou Zuoren,on one side,he is a literati,on the other side,he is an ideologist.Zhou Zuoren has had an effect on the society of China since "May 4th"both in literary level and" ideological level.This paper will focus on Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought (1908-1922) to clear up its occurrence and evolution. Based on the theory of Michel Foucault’s archaeology of knowledge, from Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought itself, this paper analyzes the reasons of the occurrence and evolution of Zhou Zuoren’s literary ideas, and review it in the historical context and realist context.Based on the absorption of previous scholars about Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought, this paper will adopt such a structure, namely "why-what-how". We will explore the occurrence and evolution of Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought through this structure to return to the original character of it in history.There are two points of innovation in this paper, one is the understanding of Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought in the early stage, it is a kind of complicated literary concept at that that time, rather than what most researchers think that is a nationalism literary thought or the idea of "human literature". The other is reflecting on the methodology. Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought not only presents a relatively clear logic line, but also shows a close relationship between the former and the later. What’s more,the complicated literary concept is the total program in Zhou Zuoren’s literary thought, and we can find the original film in it from the literary concept in the other stage after that.
