Since the Han Dynasty, Buddhism has the history into Chinese about two thousand years. With the change of Buddhism in Guangdong through the development,prosperity,decline and revival,especially in the turbulent social environment that Buddhist temple has construction in large and also the monks is active has an important influence for the society at the early Qing Dynasty.The geographical distribution of Buddhist temples in Guangdong is a great significance to study the Buddhism culture in Guangdong.This paper based on the results of previous studies, by history department,local chronicles and anthology carries on the discussion the geographical distribution,characteristics and problem of social background about the temples of Guangdong, aims to have a more comprehensive understanding of social development in the early Qing Dynasty.This thesis is consist of the introduction,four chapters and the conclusion.The introduction,first resume the topic origin,purpose and background. Second the brief history of the research about the Buddhism geographical in Guangdong,and do a simple description and definition to research methodology.The text is divided into four chapters, discussed the basic situation of the development of Buddhism,the geographical distribution of the Buddhist temple,the social foundation of the development of Buddhist temple and the local social interaction problems in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.The first chapter based on a simple back in the history of Buddhism before the Qing Dynasty, the social background of development and establishment of temples in Guangdong are introduced that at the background of the revival in the last Ming Dynasty and emperor support in the Qing Dynasty,the Buddhism entered the flourishing period,through repair and construct the temples,the Buddhism has achieved great development in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.The second chapter mainly discusses the geographical distribution and characteristics of the Buddhist temple in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.The geographical distribution of Buddhist temple showed serious regional imbalance in the early Qing Dynasty,intensive in Guangzhou Province and Shaozhou Province.Through the case of Chaozhou Province showed that the imbalance also exists in smaller range,this closely related with each province has different levels,development process and geographical environment and other factors in the administrative.From the sects of Buddhism,the temple of Guangdong is belong of Zen,showing a significant feature in the early Qing Dynasty.The third chapter investigation the construction and social conditions of the Buddhist temple in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty,to study on the internal mechanism.Tolerance and acceptance mentality about scholars has important influence on the development of the Buddhism in the early Qing Dynasty.According to analysis that the process participation degree about officials,squires,monks and believers to construct and repair the temple even the source and operating of Terada,showed the important social foundation of the development of the Buddhist temple is participation from all sectors of society in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the influence of the temple to the local community in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty in Guangdong the Buddhism has strong revival, on the one hand has a certain extent squeeze the space for development of Confucianism and other folk, on the other hand it has merging with other religions and folk,expand its development space,created diversification of faith in Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty.By continue to expand its functions, the increasingly close relations with the Buddhism and secular society,also through the monks and immigration put Guangxi Jiangxi, Taiwan, Fujian and Macau into the circle of belief in the early Qing Dynasty.The conclusion part is a summary and sublimation about the whole paper.
