| After November 1964, the made the major decision of the escalation of the Vietnam War, and the United States launched a bombing of North Vietnam and the continuity of ground troops to South Vietnam, thus greatly deepened the Saigon government support. The purpose of this paper is an attempt to concerned about the relation between the U.S. strategy toward China and why the U. S. wants to upgrade the Vietnam War. Paper divided into three parts tentatively, the first part is the introduction, the main content is research on the relation between the escalation of the Vietnam War and China. The first chapter to the third chapter of the second part is Johnson government’s worries about the Chinese Communist, special triangular relationship in the Soviet Union, and the purpose of Johnson decision group. This paper tries to demonstrate that the main reason of the Johnson government’s decision of to upgrade the Vietnam War is that the United States as a "free world" credibility defenders in Vietnam has been challenged, and this is precisely as Washington says, a complete break with the Soviet Union could threaten the development of the Cold War in moderation. The last part is conclusion part, which concludes the important role that the Johnson administration’s strategic considerations on China played in the decision-making process of upgrading the Vietnam War. |
