| English writing is one of the most important aspects of the college students’ English application ability, at the same time, it’s a very important measurement of the students’ basic skills of English language. However, the traditional English writing teaching is lack of corresponding theory as guidance, the teaching methods are always too old and the instructional design of English writing teaching is unreasonable. This factors have seriously hindered the students’ improvement in English writing. How to use the appropriate theory as the guidance and explore the new mode to improve the college students’ English writing ability have become an important subject worth studying. The activity theory emphasizes that the activities play a bridge role in the internalization process of knowledge and skills and it provides possibilities to solve the problems in English writing teaching. Therefore, this paper carried out the research of the instructional design of English writing based on activity theory.First, on the base of reviewing the related research status at home and abroad, the article elaborates the core concepts and relevant theory. Then the author analyzes the domestic and international related research of the activity theory applied in the field of education and the characteristics of the college English writing course in our country. It laid the foundation for carrying out the research on the instructional design mode of the college English writing based on activity theory.Second, taking the activity theory as a guidance, combining with the physical and mental characteristics of the students and taking “learning†as the starting point to build the instructional design mode of college English writing based on activity theory. The model includes four stages: analysis stage, design stage, implementation stage, modification and evaluation stage. The author analyzed each stage in detail.Finally, the author applied this instructional design model in concrete teaching practice, through the practical application and questionnaire survey to verify the feasibility and validity of the model. The results show that the instructional design mode could make the students grasp the knowledge efficiently and accurately. What’s more, the students could make good use of the original knowledge to solve the problems in learning activities and their English writing abilities improved significantly. The result of this article is conducive to promoting the students to form independent English writing abilities, improve the quality of English writing teaching and it has a certain practical significance and application value in promoting the students’ learning efficiency and effectiveness in English writing. |
