The First Half Of The Twentieth Century Chinese Art Songs “Texts And Music” Research

The first half of the 20 th century is a significant period to the development of Chinese art songs. As the result of the incoming of the Western music, Chinese art songs have a history as long as almost a hundred years. From the 19 th and 20 th century introduced western music to China, to the generation of 20 th century Chinese art songs to 30 century striding forward, until the production of art songs, new face during the Anti-Japanese War, these are showing the art songs from the enlightenment, the development of our country to mature. Chinese classical literature has rich poetry as well as high artistic value. As the combination of the western music and the Chinese classical literature, Chinese art music has western music techniques and Chinese national music inherent quality. Make the traditional culture of China appears in the form of new and developing.This work focuses on the research about lyric and music in the first half of the 20 th century. For the reason that it is the most important period for the combination of classic literature and high art. The first part of this thesis is the introduction of the art songs and its developments in China. The second part discusses the literature characteristics of texts of Chinese art songs. Then this paper introduces the composition style of Chinese art songs, mainly focus on composition techniques and expression style. The next part discusses the Chinese classic literature expressed in the texts and music, as well as some issues that should be aware of in the performance. In this thesis, some art songs are mentioned as examples for better analysis and discussion.
