| With the deepening of reform and opening up and economic globalization, China joins in more and more global economical activities and gets much more closer with western countries in aspects of finance and trade. So the public continuously pay more attention to and participate more in the economic field, and the number of the audience of financial news is increasing. And because much global financial news we read is not written by Chinese journalists but translated from foreign countries, which put forward higher requirements for both the quantity and quality of the translation of English financial news.The author participated in the transediting practice of English financial news “Financial Timesâ€, and got some valuable experience. There are some difficulties in the process of translating English financial news, but finally the author found solutions with the skills and principles of transediting, and other translators can learn from it. The accurate translation of English financial news information is beneficial for Chinese readers to understand the world economy objectively and comprehensively.Through learning the theories, skills and principles of transediting, studying the style of financial news, selecting and summarizing the transediting materials, and combining with the translation practice and experience of the financial news of Financial Times, the author divides the transediting of financial news into three parts: as for the transediting of title, addition, substitution and summarizing are used in this paper, so that the title after translation will attract more Chinese readers; as for words, the date, unit of currency and financial terms should be edited so as to be more consistent with the writing rules of Chinese financial news; as for the transediting of text structure, the methods of additions, deletions and adjustment and reorganization are used in this paper. On the basis of that, the author compiles English financial news reports which confirm to the reading habit of Chinese readers and cause Chinese readers’ interests. |
