A Study On The Characteristics Of The Debate In The Essays Of Mencius

During the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, The trend of debate was prosperous. In order to promote their political views, Pre-Qin thinkers actively explored the debate skills. Mencius is a typical representative as a powerful debater. By analyzing the characteristics of the debate in the essays of "Mencius", we can probe the exquisite language features, superb skill, argumentation skills and strong logical reasoning. In the perspective of inter-subjectivity, objectivity and the main object of departure and combined with modern home and abroad Argumentation theory, the paper analyze the characteristics of "Mencius", it’s dialogism?logicality,and Aestheticism.
