Analyzing The Composing Characteristics Of "Fantasia In F-Sharp Minor Op.28" By Mendelssohn

Mendelssohn, a romantic composer and lyrical landscape master, had high talent and accomplishments in terms of music, literature, art, linguistics, etc. His music resonated highly in spirit with German classical tradition while radiated romantic flavor of nature and poem in form and style. The music not only adhered to the strict logic of classical works, but also rendered the romantic fantasy feelings.This paper analyzed the musical structure, modal tonality, harmony and melody techniques of Mendelssohn’s work "Fantasia in f-Sharp minor Op.28"and then described its creation characteristics.
