The Study Of Coastal Defense And Li Minorities Defense Records Of Hainan Local Chronicles In Ming And Qing Dynasties

The "Hai Li Chronicle" has recorded coastal and Li defense of Hainan during past Dynasties, as an important part of Hainan local chronicles. Right now the total number of existing Hainan local chronicles during Ming and Qing Dynasties is 38, and there are 35 of them contain the records of coast and Li defense, which illustrates the importance of coast and Li defense in the governance of Hainan.In this paper, the 35 local chronicles are chosen as the research objects. By study the system, content, characteristics, value etc. of the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle" during Ming and Qing Dynasties, the value of the "Hai Li Chronicle" was summarized, which can cover the shortage of research on local chronicles, and provide reference for using the local chronicle data during the historical research of Hainan Province.This paper is divided into seven parts to study:The introduction part has proceeded the discussion of records in the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle", and has illustrated the significance of this study.The first chapter has briefly introduced the general situation of the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle", containing the development situation of this chronicle during Ming and Qing Dynasties.The second chapter has analyzed the stylistic rules and layout of the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle" during Ming and Qing Dynasties, and has proceeded the discussion in terms of the compilation thoughts, compilation purpose, compilation principles. What’s more, the historical data sources of the Hainan local chronicle i.e. "Hai Li Chronicle" are summed up.The third chapter has explored and analyzed the contents regarding “Hai chronicle” in the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle" during Ming and Qing Dynasties, which is divided into two sections to illustrate, namely piracy and coastal governance measures.The fourth chapter has explored and analyzed the contents regarding “Li chronicle” in the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle" during Ming and Qing Dynasties, which is divided into three sections to illustrate respectively, namely the customs of Li people and the distribution of Li caves, the stand against of Li people and government’s policy, the fusion of Li and Han.The fifth chapter has discussed the value and defects of the Hainan local chronicle. "Hai Li Chronicle" during Ming and Qing Dynasties. And the philology value, the historical value, the ethnology value of the "Hai Li Chronicle" are summarized, meanwhile the defects are pointed out.The conclusion part has summarized the research achievements, he research value etc. of this paper.
