As the international communication increasingly frequent, English is used as a common language. Personal English literacy are also gradually improved, thus in the colleges and universities, how to enhance students’ English comprehensive quality is always important in English teaching. Teachers attempt a variety of teaching model to achieve the goal. For instance, they hold English corner, English dormitory, but the result is not much effective. In recent years, in domestic it has sprung up flipped classroom— a kind of teaching model.Flipped classroom, a new type of teaching model, transforms knowledge transmission and internalization in traditional classroom and changes teaching methods and time. The flipped classroom not only can be used in primary and secondary classroom also can be applied in college classroom.Analysis of applied researches of flipped classroom at home and abroad by way of document investigation, the thesis defines what the flipped classroom is and traces back to its theory origin; by means of interview method, the thesis realizes problems in the undergraduate English teaching and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of flipped classroom applied to the teaching of such courses. In accordance with the definition,characteristics and theoretical foundation of flipped classroom, the thesis rethinks the teaching process and teaching model and combines teaching videos; guidance cases and teaching contents in classroom; selecting juniors as teaching object.Through experiment and comparative analysis of test data, the validity of the flipped classroom teaching process and teaching model can be verified. Moreover, the problems in the undergraduate English teaching are also expected to be solved. The conclusion and prospect can be achieved.The thesis anticipates that it can provide reference for the flipped classroom in domestic undergraduate English teaching, promote the reform of English teaching; improve the teaching model; localize flipped classroom. It would lay a foundation for further implement the flipped classroom in the undergraduate English teaching in China.
