Influences Of Note-taking On The Quality Of Chinese-english Consecutive Interpretation-a Practice Report On Simulative Chinese-english Consecutive Interpretation Of The Press Conference Of The People’s Bank Of China

The world is undergoing development in all fields including politics, economics and military. Finance, however, is still a very important area for every country. Financial development and monetary policy in China have received much attention from all over the world. The press conference of the People’s Bank of China in the NPC and CPPCC held each year attracts many media from both home and abroad.The current paper takes the audio of the press conference of the People’s Bank of China in the NPC and CPPCC in 2013 and 2014 as the material of the practice. By simulating the whole process of consecutive interpretation and collecting the notes, the author hopes to discuss the function of note-taking in CI, the relation between note quantity and interpreting quality and the efficiency of notes.The practical report has concluded the effects of notes in interpreting on the quality of CI, discussed related problems, analyzed the causes and tried to find out proper solutions. The interpreting practice has improved the author’s abilities in CI through the attempt in finding the efficiency and techniques of note-taking. Besides, it is expected that it can provide some inspiration and guidance for other interpreters or those who are interested in interpretation.
