The Study Of Preposition Of “Huai Nan Zi”

Huai Nan Zi is an important ancient codes and records of initial stage of the Western Han Dynasty. It is a comprehensive expression of writings. It takes Taoists as the centre. It recruits the theory of the different philosophers and authors in pre-Qin period, including literature,philosophy,astronomy,geography,medical,science,calendar and so on. It is a conclusion of the literature of the pre-Qin period in the special period.Its language is close to the spoken language of pre-Qin period. and it has abundant materials. So the research of Huai Nan Zi has a great impact on the study of records in per-Qin and the Western and Eastern Han Dynasty.Huai Nan Zi has been treated coldly since it came out until the rising textology many people begin to study it. Scholars concentrate the study on the explanatory note and collate of the text. In recent years, scholars concentrate the study on the ideology and content. All kinds of theatise and thesis appear layer upon layer without end.These studies has relatively matured. But the study of the preposition of Huai Nan Zi is less mentioned. So by thinking over carefully, I decided to choose the preposition of Huai Nan Zi as the study object. This thesis will divide the preposition into eight categories, by referring to the sorting technique of preposition 《preposition and the function》 of Chen Changlai, analyzing the grammatical function of the preposition,conclude the use characteristics of the Huai Nan Zi.The thesis consists of three parts:The first part is the sketch of the study. It mainly introduces the significance of the study; The general situation of the book, author, content and the circulation, the sketch of the study of the Chinese preposition and the current situation of the study about the words of Huai Nan Zi, the standard of the classification of the prepositions.The second part is the stress. According to Preposition and the Function, I dividived the prepositions in Huai Nan Zi into eight categorites: subject preposition,object preposition, apposition preposition, the preposition of assistance, the preposition of reason and purpose, relevance preposition, comparison preposition.Every category consists of different sorts, analyzing the significance and the usage function of preposition.The last part is the conclusion, reorganizing the preposition of Huai Nan Zi, withthe chart and summarize the characteristics of the preposition.
