Study On Local Differences Of Drum Dancing Of Miao Nation In Xiangxi Under The Protection Of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Drum dancing of Miao nation is the representative of the traditional culture of the Miao nation, and it has been ranked as the first batch national level intangible cultural heritage in 2006. As a kind of cultural phenomenon, the Drum dancing of Miao nation deeply accumulates the cultural connotation of the Miao nation and reflects rich traditional senses, which is the important content and expressive form in daily life and inner world of the Miao people. Xiangxi is the region where the Miao nation inhabits in our country. The Drum dancing of Miao nation in Xiangxi has representativeness and typicality, and it also appears otherness in different places. Nowadays, the Drum dancing of Miao nation is affected by various realistic factors, it has appeared cultural evolution, and showed the new development trend, which appears the differences in its transmission characteristics and function because of the different local environment and various factors affected differences. In the current perspective of intangible cultural heritage protection, as the intangible cultural heritage, Drum dancing of Miao nation must avoid “one size fits all”, and it needs to explore new protection concepts and protected modes, and it has important practical significances in cultural studies and cultural management.This paper takes the Drum dancing of Miao nation in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture as the example, on the basis of literature consulting and field investigation, generalizes the distributed situation and main characteristics of the Drum dancing of Miao nation in different areas, such as Jishou, Fenghuang, Baojing and Guzhang and so on, explains the general situation of the Drum dancing of Miao nation in Xiangxi, discusses the common characteristics, functions and otherness of the Drum dancing of Miao nation in different areas, analyzes the historical factors and realistic factors of the formed otherness of the Drum dancing of Miao nation, and the existing problems of inheriting the Drum dancing of Miao nation and the protection significance for it. It tries to discuss the various possibilities of the living condition protection for the Drum dancing of Miao nation in the otherness. This paper strives to analyze the path selection and strategies of otherness protection for the Drum dancing of Miao nation in Xiangxi by applying local knowledge theories, Parsons’ Structural Functionalism, Theory of Culture Change and the Field Theory of Bourdieu. And it has put forward the current main modes of choice for inheriting the Drum dancing of Miao nation.
