With the prosperity of information technology, the development of CALL becomes prominent, which provide various learning methods for foreign language learning.Technology in education not only brings motivation to foreign language teaching but also challenges traditional teaching. And the research about the general review of CALL is rare. Therefore, the research about CALL has its practical significance and application value.This study analyzes the CALL application, learning models and the dynamic trend by statistics analysis and content analysis of the 735 papers collected from the ten core journals in CNKI in ten years(2004-2013). In this study, the author mainly conducts a quantitative study based on the methods of comparison, analysis, summarization and data statistics. With the analyzing of the research content, media classification and research methods, this paper concludes the character of the development of CALL in China. And then the classification and statement of CALL application and teaching models is conducted. In the end, the author studies the achievements and limitations of CALL study and puts forwards some suggestions for effective learning in CALL.First, now the study of CALL is still the research hotspot in China with large amount of paper related. According to the analysis above, this paper states the future development trends of CALL. With the occurrence of micro-lecture and flipped classroom, there are new trend in the development of CALL. Second, teachers are indispensable for foreign language learning, so more attention should be paid to personal development by taken effective measures. Third, teachers should attach importance to the methods and effectiveness of CALL application in order to assist foreign language teaching.Certain problems still exist in CALL studies. One problem is the disorder of the studies without an organized system. Second, the empirical studies are not completely scientific. Third, the effectiveness of CALL studies cannot be proved. Fourth the theoretical foundation of CALL is too monotonous. The last one is that the studies of learners’ are inadequate.The new directions such as MOOC and flipped classroom are effective in teaching to some extend although they are not perfect. Therefore, we can learn from them toimprove the effectiveness in foreign language teaching.In the future, the researchers should strengthen the combination of information technology and foreign language teaching and teachers’ development. During the research, they need to keep an open mind to make comparison between ancient and modern times, China and foreign countries. They should choose correct research methods, and find the shortcomings in the research and make improvement in order to improve current teaching situation.
