| Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth, as an important part of interpersona loriented contingent self-worth, refers to a psychological state in which individ ua ls establish self-worth judgment and emotion experience from life events in interpersona l interaction domain. This research contributes to the understanding of current characteristics and functions of Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth, exploratio n of intervention program, which have88 both theoretical and practical significance in middle school students’ healthy growth.While there already have some researches from the field of academics and competitions, but so far no human interaction from the perspective of the field to carry out empirical studies reported in the literature. This study based on the literature review, which is the combination of quantitative and qualitative researches, it strived to discuss the interpersonal contingency of self-worth structures, the present characteristics and many other outcome variables. It involved with four parts of studies.Firstly, this research developed a measurement with good reliability and validit y. Secondly, it used the questionnaire to measure the characteristics of the development of 818 high school students’ status, as well it investigated the relationships between interaction self-worth, school adjustment and resilience of 769 high school students, which explored the outcome variables of interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth. Lastly, through the intervene experiment of 36 students, which have lower level of interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth, it explored the function and role of interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth further.Conclusions of this research are as follows:①the self-designed questionnaire of middle school students’ Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth have satisfactory indicators of reliability and validity and is fit for middle school students in China.②the overall level of students’ interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth is comparably high and influenced by multiple demographic factors, including sex difference, registered permanent residence, integrity of family and grade.③ Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth of middle school students have predictive function for mental resilience and school adjustment, and mental resilie nce partially mediate the relation between Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth and school adjustment.④students’ interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth can be enhanced by Satiroriented invention program, whereby the level of school adjustment can be improved simultaneously.In conclusion, this paper, as an exploratory research, reveals the construct and connotation of Interpersonal-oriented contingent self-worth theoretically, and furthermore explores the function and effect of it empirically, conducive to educators’ psychological assistance to middle school students in terms of their unique characterist ics. |
