| Fatherhood is a social-cultural phenomenon. The impact of father and mother on their children may be different. In children’s emotional socialization, especially for anger management, the role of father played is more important than mother. Father’s involvement may be more conducive to teenagers’ adaptation. At the same time, in the socialization of children, some scholars believe that we should focus on parents’ "words", "conduct" and "faith", rather than their and their children’s feelings. In addition, Belsky assumed there are three domains of determinants, which are personal psychological resources of parents, contextual sources of stress and support. They will eventually affect children’s development through the mothering process. The most important is the parents’ psychological resources; the most unimportant is the children’s characteristics. Research plans to adopt positive psychological capital as the " parents’ psychological resources ", it can develop the direct effect of children’s emotional intelligence; it also assumes that it can indirectly through the development of parenting style and involvement play an indirect effect on children’s emotional intelligence. To explore and verify the theory of Belsky, in order to enrich the father involved in the study of family education, so as to guide the practice better.The research adopts the positive psychological capital scale, father involvement questionnaire, short form of EMBU and emotional intelligence scale, randomly sampled 5 high school’s students(high one, high school) of Guiyang City, the students and their fathers conducted the questionnaire survey, the data were analyzed by correlation, ANOVA,structural equation model and so on.Results of this study are as follows:1. The correlation between father’s positive psychological capital and his education level, occupation, family economic status successively is moderate, low and low. And positive psychological capital of father varies significantly in the above three kinds of demographic variables. For specific performance, father’s positive psychological capital whose education level are senior high school,technical secondary school, university, college degree or above, is higher than those fathers’ whose education level is senior high school and below. Father’s positive psychological capital, whose occupation is state department personnel, business unit personnel, professional and technical personnel, employee of the company or companies, employees and free profession person or individual practitioners, is significantly higher than those of the other people.Then Father’s positive psychological capital,whose family economic situation is medium or above,is significantly greater than those below medium.2. Father’s parenting style, in addition to emotional warmth and father’s occupation is a moderate association, emotional warmth, overprotection and rejection three dimensions’ association with student’s grade, birth order, father’s education level, occupation and family economic status respectively is low. And, father’s rearing style in the above five demographic variables varies significantly. For specific performance, in the emotional warmth dimension, senior1 is significantly higher than senior2; only child is significantly higher than the eldest; fathers whose education level is university or college is significantly higher than high school or technical secondary school, and the latter is significantly higher than junior high school and below; fathers, whose occupation is state organ personnel, business unit personnel, is higher than those whose occupation is free profession person or individual practitioners or the other; and the level of whose family economic situation is above medium is significantly higher than those whose family economic situation are medium and below medium. Meanwhile in the overprotection dimension, senior1 is significantly lower than senior2; the variation on student’s birth order, family economic status, and education level and occupation of father are insignificant. In the rejection dimension, senior1 is significantly lower than senior2; there are no significant differences in birth order; the father whose education level is university or college showed significantly less than whose education level is senior high school or technical secondary school, junior high school or below; for state organ personnel and business unit personnel,father’s performance significantly less than free occupation or individual practitioners and the other; economic conditions for medium significantly lower than below medium.3. Father Involvement showed moderate correlation with father’s education level and occupation, and low correlation with family economic status, location and birth order. And, Father Involvement varies significantly in the above five demographic variables. For specific performance, township and city fathers are significantly higher than rural father; only child is significantly higher than the oldest and the second oldest; fathers whose education level is above college, is higher than senior high school or technical secondary school, and the latter is higher than the junior middle school and the following; father whose occupation is state department personnel or business unit personnel, is significantly higher than free occupation or individual practitioners and the other, technical personnel significantly higher than the other, and employee of the company or companies, factory workers is significantly higher than free occupation or individual practitioners and other; family economic status is above average and medium are significantly higher than below the medium.4. High school students’ emotional intelligence with its home location, order of birth, father’s occupation, father’s educational level and family economic status, discipline, gender and nation have showed low correlation, and the correlation degree is decreasing successively. Differences in emotional intelligence of high school students in the above demographic variables on the specific performance, there is no significant difference in the subject, gender and ethnic groups; city students’ emotional intelligence is significantly higher than rural schools; the only child students emotional intelligence is significantly higher than the second oldest students’ emotional intelligence; the students whose father’s occupation is state department personnel or business unit personnel are significantly higher than the other; the students whose father’s education level are college or university are significantly higher than the junior middle school and below; the students whose family economic status above medium was significantly higher than below medium.5. Father’s positive psychological capital, parenting style, Involvement and senior high school students’ emotional intelligence have extremely significant positive correlation with each other. And the relationship of father’s positive psychological capital with father’s parental pattern and students’ emotional intelligence, fathers’ parental pattern with Involvement, and Father Involvement with students’ emotional intelligence, all of them show low correlation. Meanwhile father’s parental pattern and students’ emotional intelligence show weak correlation, father’s positive psychological capital and Involvement are moderately correlated with each other.6. Father’s positive psychological capital have a direct effect on the high school students’ emotional intelligence, but also by the parenting styles and Involvement has indirect influence on high school students’ emotional intelligence. Father Involvement plays a regulatory role in the impact of positive psychological capital on high school students’ emotional intelligence. That is, relative to the low paternal involvement, when high involvement, father’s positive psychological capital’s positive influence on high school students is stronger. |
