Measure words is a lexical category which is rich of Chinese characteristics, with distinct types of characteristics, reflecting the important characteristics of Chinese grammar. Measure words has been the focus and difficulty of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. As the important grammatical features of measure words, "Overlap" which has a unique grammatical function and cognitive pragmatic value should be given sufficient attention in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Academic study of measure words has been concerned all the time, but the study of duplication is relatively weak, especially the achievement in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is quite uncommon.Based on this, we intend to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the use of Chinese the duplication of measure words for foreign students, applying the interlanguage theory and error theory, trying to analyze some existent errors and relative problems,and putting forward specific measures according to the actual situation.Except the introduction, the thesis consists of three main parts:The first part: the study of duplication of Chinese measure words closely related to this topic.On the basis of the existing research results, this part put forward author’s own thinking by investigating the basic classification of the classifier, the scope, form, grammatical function and meaning of the duplication, as the foundation of the following research.On measure words classification, this paper takes the rule of thirds, namely, the name of volume, momentum, volume form the first layer, and then layer by layer lower classification. In terms of the duplication of measure words, there are some points of view that duplication should be limited by the number of syllables and the meaning of measure words, and that the degree of duplication of measure words is poor. On the basis of the above, we find that it is difficult to overlap for measure words with descriptive meaning and no analogy. The supposed descriptive meaning of measure words, apart from quantifying the center language, depict the property, state of measure words for the purpose of appearing specific and vivid; and the analogy is the universal access, One of its reflection is that it is allowed to put more or infinite numerals in front of the measure words.In the type of measure words form, based on the principle of “control difficulty by simplicity, keep balance between difficulty and simplicity and protruding the differences”, we classify the basic type of the duplication of measure words into assured four types: “AA ”, “An AA ”, “An A An A ” and “An A And An A ”. In grammatical functions, it is used for Subject, predicate, attributive, adverbial after duplication, and a few can act as complement and object. Individual measure words are adhesive, and the level of adhesion decreased, and the degree of freedom improved, but there is also the opposite that duplication functional grammar is in a certain degree of limitation, and that combination ability with numeral is weak. In the grammatical sense,duplication type own three kind of grammatical meaning, namely, “Every One” meaning, succession meaning and muchness. After duplication measure words, the function and semanteme both increased, with several decrease at the same time(such as “yi dian”、“yi dian dian”); On the difference of the degree of the expression, “An A And An A”> An A An A”>“An AA”>“AA”.The second part: the study of biased error of Chinese the duplication of measure words, in this part, we mainly abstracted the type and corresponding cause of biased error and focus on the investigation of typical duplication type like “gege”.Through investigating in the HSK dynamic corpus, we find that “AA” is mostly used and the next is “An AA”、 “An A An A”and“An A And An A”. As a prototype duplication,“AA” which is the emphases of acquisition is mostly used; “An A And An A”,on account of its complicate form and more difficult acquisition, is rarely used.In HSK dynamic corpus, we have found a total of more than 174 bias errors and extracted comparatively five typical biased errors, including abuse, redundance, misuse, missing and wrong order. “abuse” includes two cases, one is that quantifier duplication is used instead of other forms of expression that should be used;The other is the opposite that other wrong forms are used rather than duplication. “Misuse” include the misuse of duplication form and the misuse of duplication phrase. “redundance” mostly reflect that it is expressed repeatedly with other part or rejected by the same kind. “Missing” is that one is the lack of measure words, one is the lack of the center words. The duplication of measure words which can take part in the construction of a number of attributive, adverbial exists wrong order problem. By comparison, “Abuse” and “Misuse” have a larger proportion, mainly because there is a distraction of the same kind of grammar meaning in the mind of students. It is more difficult to use measure words differently from other similar grammatical form, because the specific choice is subject to context, sentence structure and other elements in the sentence.In terms of cause of bias error, we discussed the elements which lead to the bias error use of the duplication of measure words from the complexity of negative transfer, the teaching materials, Chinese the duplication of measure words and multiple attributes.The third part: according the analysis of foreign students acquiring the bias error of Chinese the duplication of measure words, we put forward relative teaching suggestions.In order to solve the existent problem, this paper made a further consideration on teaching strategies from syllabus, teaching materials, teacher and teaching methods in 4 aspects, and proposed relative advises. In teaching we should base on teaching materials and take appropriate involvement in daily life situation; enhance repeat and practice and combine mechanical operation with situation awareness; pay attention to the connection of various knowledge points and make knowledge into systematization and network.
