| In recent years, tourism is full of vitality in our country, especially the characteristic tourism which stimulates the economic growth. The Oroqen people is the traditional minority in northern China, the travelers are attracted by its mystique. As a communication platform, The Oroqen Folk Museum receives a large number of foreign visitors every year. The travelers take keen interest in the Oroqen culture after the trip to the museum, which influences the local economic development in some way. The translation of the commentary in the museum has great effect on foreign visitors, and even influences the spread of whole minority culture. Wherea there is no official and complete translation for its commentary up till now. The author was entrusted by The Oroqen Folk Museum, tries to translate the commentary into English. Considering the features of tourism text, the author analyzes the translation problems on the basis of Skopos Theory, Communication Translation Theory and Receptional Aesthetic Theory and put forward specific translation strategies. To achieve visitors’ understanding and aception, the Oroqen culture-loaded words are translated by the methods of amplification and parallel text, etc. The methods of recasting and sentence-combining are suitable for translating long sentences. Because of its propaganda function, the whole translation version is based on Receptional Aesthetic Theroy with the methods of semantic division and rhetorical omission, etc. The author also discusses the problems which should be solved in translating of this type of text and the defects in the translation and summarizes factors influencing translation. |
