| Human-Computer Interaction is one of crucial subjects in engineering psychology. Recent years, 2D gestures interaction(touch gesture interaction) and 3D gestures interaction(somatic gesture interaction) has became the important forms and main developing tendency of HumanComputer Interaction. To further exploration of these gestures usability, the present study examined the usability levels of different gesture programs and summarized a collection of the best gestures action.The present study contained of three researches:research 1 has summarized touch gestures design principle and collected 2Dã€3D touch actions as much as possible by consultation of previous studies and touch gesture products. On the basis of research1, research 2 and research 3 adopt serial tasks to explore the usability of different touch gestures and found the gesture with best usability, then verified these gestures in the real task situation.Research 2 and research 3 contained of four experiments: Experiment 1 tried to acquire the best 2D gestures action by comparing usability levels between different 2D gesture programs with serial usability tasks. Experiment 2 was conducted to verify the advantage of best 2D gestures collection by comparing task performance and subjective contentment between the best 2D gestures collection and normal 2D gestures collection in real task scenario. Experiment 3 tried to acquire the best 3D gestures action by comparing usability levels between different 3D gesture programs with serial usability tasks. Experiment 4 was conducted to verify the advantage of best 3D gestures collection by comparing task performance and subjective contentment between the best 3D gestures collection and normal 3D gestures collection in real task scenario.The study showed the following main conclusions:1ã€The study concluded and validated a best collection of gestures for 2D gesture interaction. For example, “press the targetã€draw left, then click the ‘delete’ button†is the best gesture of “delete†task; “press the target with two fingers and whirl†is the best gesture of “rotate†task.2〠The study concluded and validated a best collection of gestures for 3D gesture interaction. “stretch single hand and index finger click†is the best gesture of “left click†task; “stretch five fingers and point upward or downward†is the best gesture of “scroll†task.3ã€Based on our results,we proposed five principles for designing gesture action. ? Principle one: finger gesture is more suitable for meticulous task while palm gesture is more suitable for integral task. ? Principle two: Fuency is important in designing touch gesture. ? Principle three: Make sure there is no more than three gestures in one action combination. ? Principle four: Use the single hand as far as possible. ? Principle five: Priority of “right hand draw left†gesture in designing move gesture. |
