This is a translation report on Success in English Teaching, and the translated text is from Chapters 9, 10 of the book. This book introduces the teaching experience and thoughts of the authors in details, and provides an integrated teaching guidance system. This report includes a lot of authentic examples. Since its publication, it has provoked a stir in readers and brought an important significance to English teaching.I hope I can provide some theoretical direction for domestic researchers and improve my translation ability and get a more particular knowledge of English teaching methods through this translation practice. This report firstly starts with introducing the background, target, significance and structure of the project to analyze the project itself lucidly, then explains relevant theories used in this translation practice by forms and tables. Afterwards probing into the translation strategies and methods applied under the direction of Relevance Theory. In the aspect of strategies, this report mainly studies the guidance and directions of communicative translation and semantic translation, and domesticating translation and foreignizing translation to this translation activity; in the aspect of translation methods, this report mainly analyzes literal translation and free translation. In the end, the report emphasizes to discuss the key points and problems encountering in translation process and states the enlightenments and unsolved problems. The report tries to discuss the skills applied in the process of translation such as word transformation, translation methods of adding and omitting and so on under the range of Relevance Translation Theory.
