XueYue’s Management In Hunan Province And The Society Of Hunan In The Period Of Anti-War.(1939-1945)

During the Anti-Japanese War, XueYue had participated and commanded in more than a dozen times major battles, known as the general who wiped out enemy at most in Anti-war. XueYue managed Hunan six years in Anti-Japanese war as the military governor and the chairman. In the past, for the evaluation of XueYue, some researchers denied him from ideological point of view, thought that he was an anti-communism pioneer; Some thought that he was a national hero from a military point of view in Anti-war. Overall, it is lack of research that the experience of XueYue’s management in Hunan province, so there are much room for comprehensive and objective evaluation to XueYue. It is beneficial to enrich the content of XueYue research, and achieve the purpose of objective evaluation figures by doing researches on policies and measures of XueYue’s management in Hunan province and exploring the relationship between the government of XueYue and the society of Hunan during Anti-war. At the same time, it can deepen our awareness and understanding to the society of Hunan during Anti-war.This paper is divided into four parts: The first part describes the background of XueYue’s management in Hunan province.The second and third section discuss the policies and measures of XueYue’s management in Hunan province from the points of the political, economic, military, cultural and social aspects.The fourth part analyzes the impacts of the policies and measures of XueYue’s management in Hunan province on the society of Hunan during Anti-war, which providing evidences for deepening the understanding of XueYue at the same time.During XueYue’s management in Hunan province, actual measures were taken to stabilized Hunan wartime situation in many aspects, such as political, economic, military, cultural and social.It also guaranteed the smoothprogressofcausesinwartime.Moreover, it laid the foundation for the consolidation of Hunan rear base after Anti-war and development of the society of Hunan during Anti-war.In general, XueYue had completed war strategy tasksundertakenby his government and provided strong support for the national war.Meanwhile, thepoliciesin XueYue’s management inHunan province was transferred on the National government will.With the Anti-war turning into a stalemate, the National Government has taken passive resistance and active anti-Communist policy.Thoughthe government of XueYue insisted on the Anti-Japanese war, it also implementedNationalGovernment’spolicyofAnti-Communist actively,which undermined the anti-Japanese national united front.
