A Study On The Sound Change Of The Kaifeng Dialect

A Study on the Sound Change of the Kaifeng Dialect described the Kaifeng dialect phonetic system and its internal differences, discussed internal partition of Kaifeng dialect, and summed up the characteristics of Kaifeng dialect speech. Through the study of ancient Zhi Zhang Zhuang group consonants, suffixation, synchronic sound change phenomenon to explain sound change facts in Kaifeng dialect, trying to reveal and summarize the rules of Kaifeng dialect sound change.This paper is divided into six parts. In the first chapter,we introduced the Kaifeng geography and history background, summarized the Kaifeng dialect research status, signified the topic and research method, marked the pronunciation accent; The second chapter, we discussed Kaifeng dialect’s internal division and characteristics mainly from the internal partitions, internal attribution and phonological features. The third chapter, we studied on Zhi Zhuang Zhang group consonants’evolution type by used the diachronic comparison, Mainly related to historical levels of the changes of types, and the evolution of zhizhuangzhang group initials palatalization problem. The fourth chapter, through the comparison with other dialects around Kaipfeng,we descripted Kaifeng dialect’s suffixation, included the phonological constraints of Erhua,Z and D suffixation. We analysised Z suffixation’s research status development path and characteristic in Kaifeng dialect, descripted the phonological constraints of Erhua in the Kaifeng Dialect and its grammatical function and meaning, introduced suffixation of small place names and predication in Kaifeng dialect. The fifth chapter,we described synchronic sound change in Kaifeng dialect, included the tone sandhi, light tone & Light and heavy reading and combination tones phenomenon. In this chapter,we also summarized forms of Kaifeng dialect tone sandhi, light modified tone. The last chapter, we concluded the views of this thesis, and put forward on the future research.
