A Study On Piano Suite: The Combination Of Long And Short

The Combination of Long and Short Sounds is a piano piece with unique Chinese national style. This piece is carefully created by the composer on the basis of the traditional music through a skillful combination of modern composition techniques and the Korean “long and short” special complex rhythm type. Based on this piece,this paper intends to explore how the traditional Korean musical elements are used in this work, hoping to provide some advice and help for the music workers in their study of this work.This paper mainly uses the research methods such as the literature research method,the music ontology research method and the version comparison research method.Literature research method is mainly used to collect and sort out the related literatures about the work, understanding the current research status to determine the research theme and ideas. Music ontology research is mainly used to analyze the background,music structure, characteristics of melody and rhythm to better grasp the connotation of the work. Version comparison method is mainly used to compare the speed and the techniques of the three performers.The Combination of Long and Short Sounds has a very high research value as it has witnessed a significant moment when the Chinese national elements were first applied to the Chinese piano works, making great contributions to both developing China’s piano music schools and continuing the path for music innovation.
