Auction is a typical way of trading under the condition of market economy, and this kind of form has become one of the most important form of art today. Chinese history appeared only "sing sell", "secondhand clothes", such as the original auction, the art trade also introduce mainly exist among traditional antique shops, trading, etc. After the opium war, modern the auctioning industry as company for the western colonial tools together was introduced into China, and in the most prosperous city in China-Shanghai, the auction house began to flourish at the earliest. Appeared in many auction houses, represented by Italian architect lu mo one batch of foreign firm, the art auction as the important content of business.This paper first describes the foreign firm’s historical background, to analyze the causes of the auction company, and why, first appeared in Shanghai. The second chapter on the analysis of the auction company system, including the types of access to art, art and the auction company operation mode is studied. The art auction company for the third chapter analyzes the effect on the change of traditional Chinese art trading patterns, as well as the beginning of modern Chinese art auction, finally puts forward the auction company in the history of modern art history which forms a connecting link between the preceding and significance.
