As one of cultural carriers of human civilization, given names of people exhibited the evolvement process of the traditional chinese culture. The diversity of naming people makes it difficult to explore the cultural connotation of people’s given mames. But given name is always influenced by the Confucianism, Taoism,Buddhism and Clan thoughts of social culture and shows a tendency that the related keywords are concentrated in people’s given names. It is generally accepted today that the influence of Confucionism had declined during the Jin Dynasties and Southern Dynasties. But this time, many ideas of confucionism were existed in people’s mind, dominated people’s moral spirit tendency. This tendency is neatly illustrated by the keywords, such as xiao, ren,li, and so on.Which are concentrated in people’s given names. The effect of Taoism on given names reflected in some keywords, such as chong, ling, xuan, and so on.Which are concentrated in people’s given names.Take the word "zhi" for an example, during the Jin Dynasties and Southern Dynasties the word "zhi" generally occurring in people’s given names and there is no taboo on using this word for one’s given name between fathers and sons. This phenomenon previously unknown in our country.Considering the complex situations of the word "zhi" of people’s given names,we cannot equal names with the word "zhi" to the influence of Taoism. But we can almost certain that in the family who using the common word "zhi" in fathers’ and sons’ given names and regarding Taoism as family belief, the word "zhi" is the representative of religion beliefs.During the Jin Dynasties and Southern Dynasties,as a new vigorous ideology,Buddhism tend to be the state religion, this tendency may influence the perception of the people and what is exhibited in people’s given name is the common keywords of Buddhism.Because of the Buddhism’s influence.People always named their children by "ceng,fo,yuan, zhao, jue",and so on.The trend from common keywords to profound keywords reflected that intellectuals have cultural advantageon the understanding of religions implication.Ancient Chinese social was based on patriarchal clan system. The effect of clan thought on names reflected in some keywords, such as zong,zu,yin, sun, and so on.Which are concentrated in people’s given name.It happens that there is a similar case for brothers of the same ancestor.Their given names have various relativities, such as,using common words, common rodicals or related meaning words. With the trend of double character names became more and more popular in Southern Dynasties. There are more various relativities between people’s given names, which represented various combination way and the kinship between the clansmen.Furthermore,The given names in the Jin Dynasties and Southern Dynasties have some mew features, such as the trend of development from single character names to double character names, the concentrated emergence of pet names and fusion between confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism in people’s given names. As the big family in the Jin Dynasties and Southern Dynasties, the Wang Clan in Langya started with confucianism embraced the Five-Dou Rice religious.they accepted Buddhism earlier and brought it into their own family culture system. The direct reflection is that the keywords concentrated in their given names. the Wang Clan in Langya is a perfect epitome of idedogical integration confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism are absorbed into their own family thought.
