The Comparative Of Central Asia Dungan Folktales

Through a development over one hundred years, Donggan has kept its individuality and created its own culture by absorbing thoughts as well as experience from other peoples. As a part of Gonggan culture, Donggan folk tale contains various categories such as legends, magic stories and life stories. During the process of multiple cultural fusion and selecting material from real life, Donggan folk tale has invented some typical characters and images which reflects the mental and cultural life of Donggan.By applying to type analysis theory, this essay is meant to indicate the classical story genre of Donggan folk tale and to illustrate the relationship between Donggan folk tale and other peoples’. The text can be divided into three chapters. Chapter one focuses on the discussion on Donggan folk tale from typology level. Legends can be classified as the type of weird wife,evil gremlins, vicious stepmother and fratricidal brothers while life story can be grouped into housewife, daydreamer, unfilial descendant and revenger. Through a comprehensive study on classical genre of Donggan folk tale, it leads to a better understanding of the whole category.Chapter two is mainly comparing the similarities and differences of folk tale among Hui, Han and Donggan. The comparasion between Hui and Donggan is illustrated from theme and artificial style level while the comparation between Han and Donggan is revealed from the variance during propagation and the influence exerted on Donggan historical story by Han’s.The comparasion reveals the homology and the variety of both Han and Hui’s historical story.Chapter three is aimed at analyzing Donggan folk tale with the background of Central Asia which includes Russia, Kyrgyz and Kazakh. Meanwhile it studies the cultural collision and fusion among these three peoples from characters and images level. Through a comprehensive study on the typical genre of Donggan folk tale and a concrete analysis of the impact exerted on Central Asian Donggan folk tale by Hui, Han, Russia, Kyrgyz and Kazakh, it can fill the gap of a thorough study on Donggan folk tale and broaden the space for further study.Meanwhile it can safely draw a conclusion that Donggan folk tale shows its uniquness,openness and diversity.
