In recent decades, China’s position in the international community is becoming more and more higher, and compare with before, China is playing an increasingly important role in the world, foreign peoples still have a passion on study Chinese language. The Idioms, is a special part of Chinese language, it is numerous, concise and comprehensive, it is a treasure of Chinese language and Chinese culture. When the foreign students came into the middle and high level in the progress of study Chinese language, they will learn and use idioms more frequent. How to lead foreign students learn better about idioms has been an important topic in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language in recent years.In this thesis, I will explore the idioms teaching from five prats, they are the words outline, Chinese reading books for foreign students, foreign student’s corpus, HSK 6 and the questionnaire survey, I hope it will play a part of study Chinese language for foreign students.This thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction. First, it introduces the its background and the meaning of the subject. Second, it expounds the theoretical foundation of the research, the method of the research and the technique of the research. Last, it determines the object of the research. The object of this research is 46 idioms, they are the same part of The Outline of HSK Level Standards and Grammatical Level and International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education.The second chapter is collect all the idioms from the Chinese reading books for foreign students and analyze them, and make them to two parts, one is the idioms in the outline, the other is the idioms out of the outline.The third chapter is collect the foreign student’s corpus. This chapter is take the 46 idioms which has be determined in chapter one as the research object, the foreign student’s corpus are come from HSK dynamic composition corpus dynamic of Peking University and written language corpus of Jinan University.The fourth chapter is systematic and analyze the idioms which come from five examinations of HSK in sixth level.The fifth chapter is written about the idioms teaching. The chapter up to a questionnaire survey, the questionnaire is aim to know the fact of idioms teaching in Chinese language class for the foreign students,and make some advises out based on the survey’s result.The sixth chapter is summary. This chapter introduce the conclusion we gained in this thesis, then the innovation and shortcomings of this thesis.
