| Germany is a leading economy in Europe and the world’s second largest exporter, whose advanced technologies and development experience are worth learning for Guangxi. In recent years, since Guangxi’s main trading partners are the ASEAN countries, Guangxi-Germany economic cooperation and trade remains to be strengthened. Approaches to Guangxi-Germany Economic Cooperation and Trade analyzes the prospect of Guangxi-Germany economic cooperation and trade, and put forwards some general approaches to cooperation and specific measures. Therefore, it is of realistic significance to carry out translation and research on it.The report records the process how the translation project is conducted. It includes such main parts as the project description, the pre-translation process and the translation process, including the analysis of the source text and the target readers, preparations, the determination of translation style and strategies, quality control, etc. Besides, the report also includes a part for case study. Some examples are selected to analyze the translation strategies applied in the translation of subheadings, proper names and some sentences. And analyses at the syntactical level are categorized into three groups:adjustments of the sentence order, adjustments of the sentence structures and the use of passive voice. At last, the writer summarizes some translation experience gained and the limitations in doing this translation project.The target readers of the translated text are special, for they are mainly supposed to be Germans and English is not their first language. Thus, the writer chooses the Skopos theory as the theoretical framework for the project, aiming to achieve a target reader-centered translation. The target readers’ acceptability should be taken into account on the basis of faithfulness to the source text. It is hoped that the report can provide some thoughts and inspiration for relevant translation studies. |
