From Novel To Opera-The Exploration Of The Way Of The Opera“ War And Peace”composed By Sergei·Sergeyvich·Prokofiev

This thesis regards the opera “War and peace” this composed by Sergei· Sergeyevich· Prokofiev from Russia as object of study, exploring the process of composing the opera from novel to libretto to opera could find out varies of differences between literature and music. The thesis has three parts: introduction, main body, conclusion. Introduction summarizes something about why to choose this motif and what is the purpose of the thesis and how to research it. The main body is combined with four chapters. The chapter one describes the backgrounds the novel and opera. The chapter two discusses all kinds of details about the opera’s libretto. The chapter three analyze the composition of the opera and it is the most important part. In this chapter, the forepart, the musical themes and individuals’ characters could be analyzed,then, the latter part, some significant scenes are also treated as the forepart. Chapter four is some enlightenment.. The Last part are conclusion and references.
