The generation of classics of Song verses has gone through a difficult and tortuous course including the transformation of word body from vulgarity to elegance and the change from verbal transmission to literal communication. Besides, the increasing number of Song verses has been discovered and interpreted; and due to the collective alternative of ordinary readers and elite readers and the providence of the Song Dynasty as well, the aesthetic pursuits, especially the communication ecology turn to play a unique role in the regard that the form of word body caters to the audience. At different stages of historical development, such communication ecologies dominate the popularization of Song verses in various manners as the Song society based on its urbanization and commercialization, the dominant discourse power on account of monarchical power and royal scholars, and the media construction on the basis of traditional ceremonies, wall inscriptions, diversified literary texts and supplementary literature, etc. This paper systematically sorts out the communication ecology in the generation process of classics of Song verse and investigates the correlation among the elements of the ecology so as to explore the inherent laws that give birth to the literary classics of the past, thus activating the thinking and enriching the methods of the study on literary theory. Of equal importance are its profound implications for the construction of the science of culture communication with Chinese characteristics.
