The preposition Gei is an important grammar in Chinese grammar field project. The structure “Gei+NP+V” and “V+Gei+NP” which are composed of preposition Gei gradually attracted everybody’s attention.In this paper,we respectively analyze the internal compositions of the two structures:Gei,NP,V.In the structure “Gei+NP+V”,the preposition Gei contains rich meanings and usages.The NP can be varieties of words and phrases.According to the semantic features of the verbs,the V can be divided into five categories:the verb containing giving meaning,the verb containing gaining meaning,the verb containing result meaning,the verb containing service meaning,the verb associated with body.In the structure “V+Gei +NP”,the preposition Gei mainly contains two meanings and usages.The NP can be single object,can also be double-objects.The V is divided into three categories:the verb containing giving meaning,the verb containing gaining meaning,the verb about speech.Then we discussed the two structures from the perspective of construction.We find the two kinds of structures differences in grammar,semantic and pragmatic.When international students study the two kinds of structures,they often feel confused in the meaning of Gei,V,NP of internal structures,the meaning and function of the whole structures,and the differences between the two structures.These students made some errors:(1)Errors related to the preposition Gei.Students usually mistakenly add preposition Gei or don’t use preposition Gei.(2)Errors related to the V.When using the two kinds of structures,students don’t use verb or use fault verb.(3)Errors related to NP. Lack of NP usually happens.(4)Errors related to the whole structures.On the one hand students often mix the two kinds of structures and made errors.On the other hand students when these two kinds of structures and other components of the sentence are present,students often make wrong word order. According to these errors,we put forward our suggestions in syllabus,textbooks and teaching.
