The Reason And Significance Of Debates On Comments Of Qu Yuan

Review on Qu Yuan and his works runs throughout the development history of the whole Chinese literature. During the period of two Han dynasties, as the beginning of Qu Yuan review and Chuci study criticism, review on Qu Yuan and his works integrated many famous scholars of the Han Dynasty, and based on different positions and values, they launched a prolonged argument of Qu Yuan’s Li Sao, displayed the activeness of literary thoughts of the Han Dynasty and the awakening of literature consciousness, and opened up a lot of paradigms for Qu Yuan review of later ages. This paper plans to start from the review of great masters in the Han Dynasty on Qu Yuan and his works, summarizes the specific contents of criticism to Qu Yuan during the period of two Han dynasties, and explores the reasons for the argument on criticism to Qu Yuan during the period of two Han dynasties from a historical perspective combined with the lifetime of the critics, the changing of ideas during the period of two Han dynasties and the evolution path of literati’s mentality. The meaning of the argument lies in that——the evolution and richness of Qu Yuan’s image, the literary phenomena of the gradual combined name of poetry and literary writings as well as the conscious evolution of literary criticism development have also been presented in the research process.This paper, first of all, observes the contents of Qu Yuan review during the period of two Han dynasties from an overall perspective, and based on object categories of the review, it arranges the contents and clues in chronological order by adopting the method of combining "synchronicity" and "diachronism" respectively from the three themes of Qu Yuan review’s personality, Qu Yuan review’s works and creation motive, and comments on art characteristics of Qu Yuan’s works, presents the criticism to Qu Yuan during the period of two Han dynasties, and make a simple attribution analysis combined with the thoughts and lifetime of critics themselves.In the second part, Qu Yuan review is not only mixed with critics’thoughts, but inevitably engraved with the imprint of the times, so thoughts, politics, culture and literati’s mentality and the like of the Han Dynasty all exert an impact on the criticism and arguments of this period. Among them, the internal conflict between Qu Yuan’s Li Sao thoughts and classics of the Han Dynasty is the main reason for controversy in Qu Yuan review; secondly, the evolution of mentality of politics-related scholars is also the reason for controversy in Qu Yuan review.The last part is based on the review on Qu Yuan and his works during the period of two Han dynasties, studies the meaning or results produced in the review process, and through summary, its meaning is reflected from three aspects:first, Qu Yuan review during the period of two Han dynasties conducts an in-depth exploration and discussion of the image of Qu Yuan, makes his image increasingly rich, and depicts the prototype for the image of Qu Yuan of later ages. Furthermore, with the review during the period of two Han dynasties, Qu Yuan and his works step onto the sacred and classical road, and the "aesthetic ideas embodied in "Qu Yuan’s Li Sao" increasingly competes with the traditional Confucian conception of poetic education, and they two gradually have a joint name; in addition, the criticism of literati to the works of Qu Yuan during the period of two Han dynasties shows a growing concern for literature itself, reflects the initial awakening of literature,.and also becomes the beginning of the history of Chinese ancient literary criticism.
