This thesis is based on《First Suite for Solo Viola)) (Op.72) by the world known violist Nobuko Imai adapted from《First Suite for Solo cello)) (Op.72) which is the later cello work of Edward-Benjamin-Britten (Edward Benjamin Britten,1913-1976).The author tries to explore the playing and the characteristics of the processing techniques,in order to master the whole situation of the music.This thesis is divided into three parts:an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter based on the view of Britten and Nobuko Imai’s music style and creation background. The second chapter based on anatomizing musical structure of this work by means of analysis and form. The third research worked on playing techniques. From combine theory and practice, to help demonstrate to the music. The fourth chapter is Through the elaboration of the composer’s music style to explore the significance of the creation and artistic inspiration.Full of works are briefly described by each composer, and their creative techniques, musical style and performance skills; and existing research data in home and abroad to learn more about the Britten music style. For individuals with learning music layer upgrade, the interpretation of the viola work provides a good reference.
